I had the idea to make it a photo blog some time ago, I started doing some more serious photography about half a year ago. Bought a DSLR camera, and I like it a lot. But I don’t feel a good photographer enough to make it interesting, blog-wise. You can look here if you’re interested.

I don’t know yet what I’m gonna do with this blog, if I’ll let it live or not. We’ll see.

I turned 27 today, but I like to think that I feel ten years younger. Mid-life crisis, here I come! :p

My projects

It looks pretty… ermm… empty for now.

December 15 to 30, 2006, I was in Ohio, to be with my lovely girlfriend Christina. It was the third time I went there to spend time with her. And like the times before, it was wonderful.

The flight to the US was loooooong. I had a layover in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, and getting there from Amsterdam takes a flight of 9:15 hours. Then there was a 3 hour wait for the next 1:55 hour flight to Dayton, Ohio. Arriving there, I discovered that Northwest managed to lose my suitcase. Fearing that I would have to wear the same underpants for two weeks, I went to the NWA desk, where a helpful employee assured me that they would do their best to track it down and have it delivered to me as soon as possible. If they wouldn’t be able to find it, they would compensate for it, but luckily it was delivered the next day.

We stayed at a local hotel, so we could pretty much do whatever we wanted, which involved a lot of not doing anything. :P But we went out too, to Wal Mart for food and such (we both love food :D ), and for some walks through town. We ate out quite a few times. To Bob Evans and Will’s for the great breakfasts you don’t have here in Holland: eggs, hash browns, pancakes, sausage, bacon, toast, food, food, FOOD! Last week, I was sad to hear about Will’s going out of business shortly after we last went there, it was a nice place, and a place of good memories too. We had breakfast there together every time I visited.

We also had a good chicken foo yung at the Chinese place, and some nice fish and meat and more at the different fast food places in town.

We went to visit family too, the Friday before Christmas we visited Christina’s dad and had dinner there. On Christmas Eve we went to Christina’s grandma in Wayne Lakes, and had more food (and food and food :P This post seems to be all about food). After the food, we went for a walk in the area. Wayne Lakes is a beautiful place with lots of water, I love it there.

The Saturday before Christmas, we went to Richmond, Indiana, with Christina’s sister Terri. To the movie theater to watch Stranger than Fiction, a movie with Will Ferrell. It has a good plot, very different from anything I’ve seen lately, and we enjoyed it a lot. We went to the mall too, not a big one, and maybe it wasn’t the best day to go there, because it was the Saturday before Christmas, and a lot of people were there for some last-minute shopping. It was busy, very busy.

On Christmas Day, we visited Christina’s dad again, to watch the DVD we gave him for his birthday. A funny movie, Talladega Nights.

On the Friday before I left, we went to a restaurant to have lunch with Christina’s other grandma who I hadn’t met yet. She is very nice, and she talks a lot :P She lives in Puerto Rico, but now she is in Ohio for a couple of months. AND! She invited Christina and me to spend time in Puerto Rico this summer, and I’m very excited about that. I hope everything works out. It will be great: Christina and me on a tropical island. I can’t wait.

So yeah, I had a great time together with Christina, and I can’t wait to be with her again. I miss her lots.

(Note to self: give an update on the wonderful time I had with my sweet Christina the last two weeks. Preferably when I’m less wasted… Like tomorrow or something. Gah, I should go to bed :| )

De site werkte weer… normaal kan ik niet zeggen… Als voorheen dan? Maakt niet uit. Ik heb me uitgeschreven, hoop ik. Ik kan niet meer inloggen, in ieder geval.

We had a great time so far. We went to see family, especially Faith, my niece who was born on July 19 (uncle Stefan :O ). We went to Burgers’ Zoo (sorry for the annoying flash thing on the site) in Arnhem last Wednesday, and last Friday we had dinner at a friend’s place. Yesterday we saw Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest. Nice movie. ^_^

Tomorrow we hope to go to the Apenheul, a monkey zoo in Apeldoorn. I’m looking forward to that. :)

Other stuff we plan to do: go to Amsterdam, go to Madurodam and more of those tourism things. And visit more family too.

Being together again after 7 months is great. Two more weeks, yummy. ^_^
